Discover a mix of urban and nature in La Belle Province

A 12-day journey that moves from Montréal and Quebec City to the Laurentides, Mauricie, Charlevoix and the Eastern Townships.

Québec is a province of contrasts: from vibrant cosmopolitan cities to tranquil boreal forests, from winding rivers to undulating foothills, and from historic stone streets to pastoral vineyards.

This 12-day journey moves through that diversity.

Day 1: Arrival in Montréal

Touch down in Montréal and settle into your downtown hotel before stepping out into one of Canada’s most atmospheric cities.

Spend the afternoon wandering the cobblestones of Old Montréal, where stone façades open onto narrow lanes and breezy riverfront promenades. As daylight softens, make your way toward Plateau Mont-Royal, a patchwork of colourful row houses, cafés, and leafy side streets.

Dinner introduces you to the city’s celebrated culinary scene — whether you choose a market-inspired bistro or a restaurant rooted in Québec terroir.

Day 2: Market Morning & Journey into the Laurentides

Ease into the day with breakfast at a neighbourhood café or head straight to Marché Jean-Talon, one of Montréal’s great food gatherings. Vendors display Québec’s seasonal produce, cheeses, baked goods, and preserves — perfect provisions for the road.

By midday, point your compass north and watch the city recede as the Laurentian landscape begins to rise.

Your destination is Farouche Tremblant, a collection of private A-frame refuges tucked into a quiet boreal valley. Evening settles gently here, with forest and mountains forming the view from your cabin windows.

Day 3: Mont-Tremblant National Park & Forest Retreat

Devote the day to exploring Mont-Tremblant National Park, a vast protected landscape of rivers, forests, and rounded summits.

Choose a trail that matches your pace, paddle a calm stretch of river, or simply wander beneath the trees in search of wildlife.

Return to Farouche in the afternoon for unhurried time in the Nordic-style hot tub, where warm water meets cool forest air. Dinner and rest unfold in rhythm with the quiet Laurentian night.

Day 4: Scenic Crossing Into Maurice

Leave the Laurentides behind and follow a rolling route east, where dense woodlands open into river valleys and farmland.

Your destination is Le Baluchon Éco-Villégiature, an eco-retreat on the banks of the Rivière du Loup. After settling in, stretch your legs on one of the property’s wooded trails or simply absorb the gentle pace of this riverside setting.

Evening brings a seasonally driven meal that reflects the region’s agricultural roots.

Day 5: Adventure and Wellness in Maurice

Mauricie invites both exploration and rest, and today you can choose the balance that suits you at Le Baluchon.

Glide along the river by kayak, ride on horseback through open meadows, or cycle shaded forest paths. Later, return to the spa or find a quiet spot to watch the river slide by. As night falls, sit down to a refined meal shaped by ingredients grown on the property or sourced from nearby farms.

Follow scenic backroads toward Québec City, pausing in riverside villages that offer glimpses into Québec’s rural culture.

Arrive in the historic centre by late afternoon and settle into your hotel. The evening is yours: walk the cobbled streets, linger in a café, or simply relax after the drive.

Spend the day immersed in one of North America’s most storied urban landscapes.

Wander the UNESCO-listed old quarter, trace the city’s fortifications, and browse artisan shops tucked into centuries-old buildings. Visit the local market or head down to the St. Lawrence riverfront for panoramic views.

With its blend of history, architecture, and contemporary culture, Québec City offers a deep and textured look at Québécois heritage.

Day 8: Scenic Route To Charlevoix & A Forest Wellness Stay

Depart Québec City along the Route du Fleuve, a road that bends and climbs with the St. Lawrence River.

Farm fields, maritime villages, and sweeping water views shape the drive, with easy excuses to stop at producers and viewpoints.

By late day, arrive at Repère Boréal — a forest retreat where minimalist cabins sit lightly among the trees. Outdoor hot tubs, thermal circuits, and woodland paths invite you into a slower rhythm. Evening settles quietly, with only forest and sky for company.

Day 9: Whale Watching & Charlevoix Terroir

Take to the water on a whale-watching excursion along the St. Lawrence, a world-renowned migration corridor for several marine species.

Back on land, follow Charlevoix’s undulating roads through hills, cliffs, and small communities known for artistic and agricultural traditions.

Taste the region’s terroir — cheeses, ciders, or farm-fresh dishes — before returning to your forest hideaway for another restorative evening.

Day 10: Into the Eastern Townships

Drive south into the Eastern Townships, where vineyards, orchards, and gentle lakes frame the landscape. Arrive in Magog and check into Hôtel Versō, a contemporary lakeside retreat overlooking Lake Memphremagog.

Enjoy a relaxed evening on the waterfront or stroll through the town’s boutiques and cafés.

Day 11: Villages, Vineyards & Lakeside Living

Explore the Eastern Townships at an easy pace. Visit family-run vineyards, browse village markets, or cycle along trails that trace the lakeshore.

The region’s slow rhythms make it ideal for lingering — tasting wine among vines, pausing in small cafés, or returning to Hôtel Versō for a quiet evening by the water.

Day 12: Return To Montréal

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Montréal.

Depending on your schedule, pause in one last village or enjoy a final café stop before returning to the city for your departure.
