During this 2-day expedition, you will experience the thrill of navigating the ancient glacial valley that is the majestic Saguenay Fjord. A guide will give you an interpretation of all the natural components you will encounter. You will explore the breathtaking cliffs and encounter exceptional wildlife such as seals, beluga whales, minke whales, falcons, seabirds, and more. You will also enjoy gourmet meals by the campfire while marveling at the spectacle offered by the stars!

DAY 1: ARRIVAL

Departure by kayak from the marina of L’Anse-Saint-Jean. View of the majestic Caps Liberté, Égalité et Fraternité. Swimming at L’Anse de Tabatière and lunch break at L’Anse Aimable. Gourmet dinner of duck confit and sleep on the shores of the fjord at L’Anse du Portage.

DAY 2: KAYAKING & DEPARTURE

We explore a whole other scenery of the Saguenay with the unexplained presence of the islands Saint-Louis and Saint-Barthélémy. L’Anse à Job welcomes us on its thousand-year-old rocks for dinner. After two days on the water, filled with air and salt wind, we return to civilization in the late afternoon where the Fjord en Kayak team welcomes us.

  • Interpretation of the fjord
  • High-end equipment – solo/tandem kayak and fiberglass paddle
  • The guide’s service is certified by the FQCK (Fédération Québécoise de Canot Kayak), has advanced first aid training, is pursuing or has completed a course in adventure tourism, and has a minimum of one summer’s experience on the fjord plus 90 hours of training with the company
  • The guide has a marine radio and is in contact with the Coast Guard and the Fjord en Kayak base
  • Four meals (dinner: duck confit). Specify any allergies or dietary constraints when booking
  • Isothermal clothing, waterproof anoraks, boots, hats, poogies (kayak mitts)
  • Ground mattress and tent
  • Overnight camping
  • Permit and right of access to the Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay
  • Two 20 and 30-liter waterproof bags per person plus 1 5 liter bag for your camera (guitar bag available)

  • This trip is rated easy to intermediate (depending on weather conditions)
  • Group size: maximum 8 guests for 1 guide (up to 24 people for schools or groups)
  • Minimum age: 17 years old, or 15 years old very sporty.
  • Kayak distance of 18 to 25 km/day (depending on the group and weather conditions)
  • If you have experience in solo kayaking on a body of water, you have the choice between solo or tandem kayaking; however, for safety reasons, we require at least two tandem kayaks in the group.
