Canadian Pacific: Rockies to Vancouver by Rail

Day 1: Arrival in Calgary, transfer to Banff
Upon arrival at Calgary Airport, head to the local scheduled transportation company desk to arrange your transfer to Banff.

Overnight: Royal Canadian Lodge (or similar)

Day 2: Free Day in Banff
Enjoy a free day for independent sightseeing in Banff. We recommend taking the optional Discover Banff Tour, a guided sightseeing tour of the Banff area in a modern 24 passenger bus. The tour is led by enthusiastic interpretive guides who love to share their knowledge with you.

Overnight: Royal Canadian Lodge (or similar)

Day 3: Banff to Jasper
Take a sightseeing journey from Vermilion Lakes to Lake Louise, known as the “Jewel of the Canadian Rockies.” Follow the Great Divide and explore natural viewpoints of Crowfoot Glacier and Peyto Lake. At the Columbia Icefield, take an all-terrain Ice Explorer ride and sip on the fresh waters of a glacier. Continue through the Sunwapta Valley and take a stroll at Athabasca Falls before arriving late afternoon in Jasper.

Day 4: Free Day in Jasper
Take a free day to explore Jasper. We recommend booking the optional Jasper Wildlife Discovery Tour, the ultimate way to view wildlife in their natural surroundings. Join an informative wildlife tour and discover Jasper’s hidden gems all while seeking out the region’s furry original inhabitants! Elk, deer, bear, moose, and mountain goats are just a sample of the many wild animals roaming the park.

Day 5: Jasper to Vancouver on VIA “The Canadian Train”
Board the VIA train (departure at 09:30) in Sleeper Plus Class with superb meals, and impeccable service. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Rockies from the comfort of refurbished Art Deco rail cars from the 1950s. In the dome, the upper observation deck, enjoy 360-degree views of the impressive landscapes. The Sleeper Plus Class includes all meals appropriate to your journey, served in the elegant yet casual dining car.

Day 6: Arrival in Vancouver on VIA “The Canadian Train”
The Canadian train is scheduled to arrive in Vancouver at 08:00. Upon arrival, collect your checked baggage and transfer independently to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore Vancouver.

Day 7: Free Day in Vancouver
Take a day to explore Vancouver.

You can opt to book the Vancouver Hop-On Hop-Off 2-day Classic Pass, which offers all the highlights of downtown Vancouver, including major attractions and scenic points of interest. Visit Stanley Park, have lunch at Granville Island, explore the historical Gastown or the trendy Yaletown, and don’t forget Robson Street for shopping. Recorded commentary is provided in English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean & Mandarin. Plug-in headsets will be made available, but we encourage guests to bring their own.

Day 8: Departure from Vancouver
