Please note the duration can range from 2–5 nights, depending on your travel plans and preferred level of exploration.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN WHITEHORSE & AURORA VIEWING

Arrive in Whitehorse and enjoy a smooth transfer to your centrally located hotel overlooking the Yukon River. After settling in, head out beyond the city lights for your first guided aurora viewing experience. A heated cabin provides warmth and comfort as you watch the Aurora Borealis shift and ripple across the northern sky, a quiet, unhurried introduction to Yukon winter.

Accommodation: Edgewater Hotel (or similar)

DAY 2: WILDLIFE, HOT SPRINGS & NORTHERN LIGHTS

Begin the day with a guided introduction to Whitehorse, offering insight into the region’s Gold Rush history, riverfront landmarks, and modern northern life. Continue to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, where wide natural enclosures allow you to observe iconic northern species such as moose, caribou, musk ox, and lynx in their winter environment.

In the afternoon, slow the pace with a restorative visit to Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs. Surrounded by forest and mountain air, mineral pools, saunas, and cold plunges offer a warming counterpoint to the cold season.

As night falls, venture out once more for a guided aurora viewing, returning rested and ready for another evening beneath the northern lights.

Accommodation: Edgewater Hotel (or similar)

DAY 3: CHOOSE YOUR NORTHERN ADVENTURE

Shape the day to your interests with a range of optional guided activities available at an additional cost.

Mush a team of huskies through snow-laced forest trails, ride a snowmobile across frozen lakes and open valleys, or explore the quiet backcountry on snowshoes or a traditional kicksled.

Or, for a broader perspective, take a scenic flight over Yukon’s vast winter landscape, where mountains, icefields, and winding river corridors reveal the scale of the North from above.

Each option offers a distinct way to experience the season’s beauty, allowing you to balance adventure with rest before returning to Whitehorse for another evening beneath the northern lights.

Accommodation: Edgewater Hotel (or similar)

DAY 4: DEPARTURE FROM WHITEHORSE

Enjoy a relaxed final morning in Whitehorse. Take a quiet walk along the frozen river, visit a local café, or simply take in the stillness of a northern winter morning before your included transfer to the airport.
