Aurora Summer Adventure

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN YELLOWKNIFE & FIRST AURORA HUNT

Welcome to Yellowknife! Upon your arrival in the Northwest Territories, a complimentary hotel shuttle will take you to your accommodation. After checking in and settling into your hotel, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Yellowknife is a walkable city, and you can explore the small downtown core with its unique shops and restaurants.

As evening approaches, prepare for your first Aurora Hunting Tour. You will be picked up from your hotel at 9:30 PM for an adventure focused on finding the best views of the Northern Lights. Your experienced guide will drive to various locations with amazing vantage points to see the Lights, and snacks and hot beverages will be available. This is a mobile tour, meaning you'll move around to different locations, searching for the beautiful Aurora. If visible, your guide will assist you with taking memorable photos. This tour offers an opportunity to witness the magical aurora in the unique summer skies of Yellowknife, learning about the science of the lights and hearing Indigenous stories passed down for generations. You will return to your hotel around 1:30 AM.

DAY 2: DISCOVER YELLOWKNIFE & ANOTHER NIGHT OF AURORA

Today you will get to experience Yellowknife with a local guide who has grown up in the scenic city. See the famous Oldtown district, where Yellowknife originally started almost 90 years ago, and learn about the area's unique history and rich Indigenous culture. Your tour will include a visit to the downtown area as well as the Visitor’s Centre where you’ll receive an official Yellowknife pin and a North of 60 Certificate. You will be picked up from the hotel at 11:00 AM for your 2-hour Sightseeing City Tour. After the tour, you'll be dropped back at your hotel around 1:00 PM.

Enjoy free time in the afternoon to explore at your leisure or head back to your hotel for a rest before the night’s Aurora activities. In the evening, get ready for another Aurora Hunting Tour , with pickup at 9:30 PM. Each aurora viewing experience is unique, as sightings depend on weather and solar activity. On clear nights, you’ll be amazed at the stars and the stunning milky way. You will be back at your hotel by 1:30 AM.

DAY 3: SCENIC TRAILS & FINAL AURORA EXPERIENCE

Today, dive into the rich traditions of the Indigenous people of the Northwest Territories. Your day begins with a 3-hour Scenic Drive & Nature Hike Tour , with pickup at 10:45 AM. This tour takes you through some of the region’s most breathtaking landscapes. You'll experience the beauty of the natural environment and gain a deeper appreciation for the region's wilderness. You will return to your hotel around 2:00 PM.

This evening marks your final Aurora Hunting Tour , with pickup at 9:30 PM. This is your last chance to witness the breathtaking Northern Lights, so keep your camera ready! The guides know all the best scenic spots and are able to relocate during poor weather, offering a chance to see the Northern Lights set against a variety of landscapes, and you might even catch an Aurora reflection in the lake. Your tour concludes around 1:30 AM when you are dropped back at your hotel.

DAY 4: DEPARTURE FROM YELLOWKNIFE

Enjoy your morning at your leisure. After checking out from your hotel , a shuttle will provide transportation to the airport. Depart Yellowknife with unforgettable memories and photos of your Northern adventure
