 Travel to Whitehorse, Yukon, to enjoy majestic wildlife and nights rich with the magic of the Northern Lights. You’ll discover scenic Whitehorse, the Yukon’s capital, surrounded by endless mountains and travel away from the city lights to take in the Aurora Borealis. On successive evenings, head just outside the city centre to an idyllic Northern Lights viewing location: the AuroraCentre. The evenings will feature relaxing Northern Lights viewing besides a cozy wood stove or roaring campfire.

Itinerary/Overview

Day 1: Arrival in Whitehorse

Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel, located in the heart of the city near the banks of the Yukon River. Historic yet trendy, Whitehorse is small and easy to explore on foot or by vehicle. Later in the evening, head to the AuroraCentre to seek the sight of the northern lights.

Day 2: Hot Springs, Wildlife Viewing & Northern Lights Viewing

In the late morning, discover the sights of Whitehorse, a city both historic and trendy, on a guided tour full of character. Visit the SS Klondike National Historic Site, one of the last great paddlewheelers that navigated the Yukon River system until the 1950s, the Old Log Church, the oldest building in Whitehorse, and the unique Log Cabin Skyscraper, a three-story tower made entirely of logs. After exploring these top sites, Main Street offers a perfect spot for strolling, shopping, and enjoying its galleries and cafés.

Next, visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve for up-close views of the region's large mammal species, including elk, moose, mule deer, caribou, Dall’s sheep, mountain goats, bison, and even the high Arctic musk-ox, all in their natural habitats. Nearby, indulge in the natural hot springs at Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, where you can relax in a breathtaking winter mountain setting.

Later in the evening, set out once again in search of the stunning Northern Lights. Enjoy the view from the comfort of a sheltered spot or under the starry sky by a warm fire at a custom-designed aurora viewing location.

Day 3-5: Optional Tour & Northern Lights Viewing

Day free for optional sightseeing and touring. You can choose from a variety of optional activities, such as snowmobiling, dogsledding, and snowshoeing. Experience the Yukon as Jack London once did.

Later in the evening we set out once more to the AuroraCentre where we’ll seek the sight of northern lights.

Day 3-6: Departure

Transfer to the Airport.
