Travel to Whitehorse, Yukon, to enjoy majestic wildlife and nights rich with the magic of the Northern Lights. You’ll discover scenic Whitehorse, the Yukon’s capital, surrounded by endless mountains and travel away from the city lights to take in the Aurora Borealis. On successive evenings, head just outside the city centre to an idyllic Northern Lights viewing location: the AuroraCentre. The evenings will feature relaxing Northern Lights viewing besides a cozy wood stove or roaring campfire.
You will also visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve to view and photograph wildlife in its natural habitat. Keep reading below for more details, but please also get in touch if you have any questions. DAY 1: ARRIVAL WHITEHORSE
Depart Vancouver on Air North, flying over the scenic Coast Mountains on your way to Whitehorse. You'll be met by your guide at the airport and taken to your hotel.
Your hotel is located in the heart of the city not far from the banks of the Yukon River. Historic but trendy, Whitehorse is small and easy to explore on foot or by vehicle. Later in the evening, we set out to the AuroraCentre where we’ll seek the sight of northern lights.

DAY 2: WILDLIFE VIEWING & NORTHERN LIGHTS VIEWING
In the late morning, discover the best of Whitehorse on a city tour with character. Visit the SS Klondike National Historic Site to see one of the last great paddle wheelers that plied the Yukon River system until the 1950s; explore the Old Log Church, the oldest building in Whitehorse; and visit the unique Log Cabin Skyscraper, a three-story tower made completely out of logs. And when you’ve seen all these top sites, stroll Main Street to browse through all the shops, galleries and cafés.
We will visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve for close views of many of the Yukon’s large mammal species including elk, moose, mule deer, caribou, Dall’s sheep, mountain goats, bison and even the musk-ox of the high Arctic, all in their natural surroundings.
After a relaxed dinner in Whitehorse, you’ll be back on the road again to seek views of the stunning Northern Lights. Relax in sheltered comfort, or under the starry sky beside a warm fire at one of our tailor-made aurora viewing locations.

DAY 3: NORTHERN LIGHTS VIEWING AT THE AURORA CENTRE
You'll have a free day (or two, if you choose to add on an extra day) to sightsee and tour around the eclectic captial city of Whitehorse. Set along the banks of the impressive Yukon River (the Chu NÃnkwän), Whitehorse has a bustling downtown that offers an eclectic mix of gold rush history, indigenous culture and quirky local character. Visit the award-winning Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre, learn about ice age history at the Yukon Beringia Interpretive centre and try some of the amazing local cuisine on offer in the city's eateries.
In the summer/fall season you have the option to experience the beautiful scenery of Kluane National Park or the stunning vista of White Pass on the way to Skagway on one of the available day tours.
Later in the evening, we set out once more to the AuroraCentre where we’ll seek the sight of northern lights.

DAY 4: DEPARTURE WHITEHORSE
Your guide will pick you up at the hotel to drive you back to the airport in time to catch your flight back to Vancouver.
