DAY 1: WELCOME TO WINNIPEG

Your adventure begins as you arrive in Winnipeg, where you'll check into your conveniently located airport hotel. Look forward to a warm welcome reception hosted by an Interpretive Guide, setting the tone for the exciting journey ahead.

DAY 2: CHURCHILL ADVENTURE BEGINS

An early morning flight transports you to Churchill, where your immersive exploration truly begins. Embark on a guided bus tour of Churchill's most notable sites, including the fascinating Polar Bear Holding Facility and the iconic Inukshuk. Delve into the rich history of Churchill at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre with an interpretive program, and gain insights into polar bear research and climate change at the Polar Bears International House. The day concludes with an evening cultural presentation from a local Indigenous Churchillian, offering a unique perspective on the area's heritage, wildlife, and lifestyle.

DAY 3-4: TUNDRA BUGGY® ADVENTURE

Dedicate two full days to the unparalleled experience of observing polar bears and other subarctic wildlife within the Churchill Wildlife Management Area. Aboard a specially designed Tundra Buggy®, you'll venture into their natural habitat, searching for these magnificent creatures. Beyond polar bears, keep an eye out for other fascinating wildlife such as arctic hare, various types of foxes (arctic, red, silver, and cross), majestic snowy owls, ptarmigan, and perhaps even caribou, wolves, or wolverines. The area is also home to a diverse array of bird species.

DAY 5: DOG SLEDDING AND MORE!

Experience the thrill of a dog sled ride and learn about Métis culture and the history of this traditional mode of transport. Afterwards, explore the charming town of Churchill with your group. Discover one of Canada’s finest Inuit collections at the Itsanitaq Museum with an interpretive program, showcasing artifacts from various periods. As evening approaches, you'll take a flight back to Winnipeg, ready for a restful night.

  • A $750 per person non-refundable deposit is required, with the remaining balance due 120 days prior to arrival

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Mandatory Waiver: All guests must sign a waiver
  • Required Insurance: Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory
  • Baggage Allowance: One checked bag (up to 50 lbs/23 kg) and one small carry-on
  • Group Size: Tours typically have a maximum group size (often around 22 guests) to ensure a quality experience
  • Age Requirement: The minimum age is 8, however the experience is strongly recommended for travellers aged 12 and up
  • Wildlife Sightings: While designed to maximize polar bear sightings, these are never guaranteed as they depend on natural conditions. The itinerary may be adjusted to offer the best viewing opportunities
  • Activity Level: Moderate. Guests should have reasonable mobility. Activities involve walking on uneven terrain, and getting on/off the Tundra Buggy and other vehicles
  • Packing for the Arctic Climate: Weather in Churchill can be unpredictable and extremely cold in October and November. Essential items include thermal underwear, warm sweaters, snow pants, wool socks, insulated gloves or mitts, a hat, scarf, and warm, rubber-soled winter boots. For added convenience, gear rentals with Canada Goose parkas, snow pants, and Baffin boots are available at an additional cost
    *November 2 Departure: This extended 7-night package (normally 5 nights) offers a unique journey to Churchill by train, enjoy two days and two nights of rail travel instead of flying
