This is a sample itinerary - the exact program is tailored to the preferences of the participants and weather conditions, tides and wildlife activity. If you have chosen a shorter duration, please disregard the additional days at the Lodge

DAY 1: ARRIVE AT SPIRIT BEAR LODGE

Pacific Coastal Airlines scheduled flight Vancouver to Bella Bella. You are met and assisted with a van transfer to the Bella Bella town docks. The boat awaits, this is where your adventure begins! Search for wildlife on your way to Spirit Bear Lodge for an afternoon arrival. Spirit Bear Lodge is built in the spirit of the First Nations heritage with the well-being of the guests in mind. After checking in, enjoy a late lunch and a welcome orientation. You will be guided to the traditional Big House for a unique cultural experience. Return to the lodge for appetizers, drinks followed by dinner and a relaxing evening.

DAY 2-6: GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST

After an early breakfast, meet on the dock at 8 am for a day of adventure. Activities may include wildlife and bear viewing, whale watching, kayaking or canoeing, hiking, visit ancient Indigenous cultural sites. We explore lush estuaries, stunning inlets with immense waterfalls and granite cliffs. Return in time for appetizers and dinner. Each evening may include a presentation or cultural discussion.

DAY 7: DEPARTURE DAY KLEMTU TO BELLA BELLA TO VANCOUVER

After breakfast, pack up and depart the lodge by 8 am to Bella Bella Soak in the serenity of the Great Bear Rainforest your final morning at the Lodge. Depart on Pacific Coastal Airlines flight back to Vancouver. You arrive at Vancouver South Terminal where your package comes to an end. Breakfast and snacks included today.

  • Rates are based on double occupancy. This trip is subject to availability at time of booking
  • A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 per person is required, with a remaining non-refundable balance due 90 days prior to arrival. A $200 change fee for any name, flight or date changes will apply. The purchase of a Travel insurance is highly recommended due to strict cancellation policies.
  • Packages available for 4-night or 6-night stays. 2025 departure dates include:
    • August 7-11; 11-17; 17-21; 21-27; 27-31; 31-September 6;
    • September 6-10; 16-20; 20-26; 26-30; 30-October 6;
    • October 6-10; 10-16;
  • Below is additional important information about the package:
    • Minimum age is 10 years old
    • Guests are required to sign a waiver prior to arriving at the Lodge
    • Maximum of 10 guests per boat on day tours
    • The Lodge is not responsible for arranging alternate travel plans in the event of flight changes by Pacific Coastal
    • Guests must be physically prepared to encounter trails that can be overgrown, and uneven
    • Extended periods of sitting in the forest, sometimes in the rain, may be required while waiting for opportunities to view wildlife
    • Hike distances of up to a mile at each river or estuary visited, with the possibility of visiting more than one in a single day
    • 2.5 to 4 hours will be spent on transport vessels each day to reach wildlife viewing destinations
    • To maximize wildlife viewing opportunities, 9 to 10 hours will be spent out in the field each day
    • Klemtu is a remote community and services are limited. While the community of Klemtu is a dry community, Spirit Bear Lodge has been given special permission to offer beer and wine to guests during dinner time at the lodge
