DAY 1: WELCOME TO WINNIPEG

Your adventure begins in Winnipeg, where you'll arrive and settle into your convenient airport hotel. As the evening approaches, look forward to a welcome reception hosted by an Interpretive Guide, setting the stage for the journey ahead.

DAY 2: CHURCHILL ADVENTURE BEGINS

An early morning flight takes you to Churchill, the polar bear capital. Upon arrival, embark on a guided bus tour of Churchill's notable sites, including the Polar Bear Holding Facility. The day concludes with a cultural presentation from a local Indigenous Churchillian before you settle into the Tundra Buggy Lodge, also known as Polar Bear Point, for the night. This lodge is situated where most polar bears enter the region.

DAY 3-4: TUNDRA BUGGY® ADVENTURE

Spend two full days exploring the Churchill Wildlife Management Area aboard a Tundra Buggy®. Observe polar bears and other subarctic wildlife. Each evening, you'll return to the Tundra Buggy Lodge, where you might wake up with polar bears outside your window. Relax in your cozy bunk, complete with individual thermostat control, a privacy curtain, a window, and charging outlets. Enjoy dining with gourmet meals crafted from local ingredients, while keeping an eye out for polar bears through panoramic windows. Evenings are spent in the Thanadelthur Lounge, where you can edit photos, enjoy snacks, and attend presentations from polar bear experts. Should the Northern Lights appear, head to the rooftop observation deck for viewing.

DAY 5: FINAL TUNDRA BUGGY® ADVENTURE

Savour one last full day of Tundra Buggy® adventure in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, soaking in every moment of the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife encounters. This final exploration from your unique home base, Polar Bear Point, ensures every opportunity for a memorable sighting. As evening draws near, you'll board your flight back to Winnipeg, checking into your hotel and reflecting on the incredible experiences of your subarctic expedition.

  • A $750 per person non-refundable deposit is required, with the remaining balance due 120 days prior to arrival

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Mandatory Waiver: All guests must sign a waiver
  • Required Insurance: Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory
  • Baggage Allowance: One checked bag (up to 50 lbs/23 kg) and one small carry-on
  • Group Size: Tours typically have a maximum group size (often around 22 guests) to ensure a quality experience
  • Age Requirement: The minimum age is 8, however the experience is strongly recommended for travellers aged 12 and up
  • Wildlife Sightings: While designed to maximize polar bear sightings, these are never guaranteed as they depend on natural conditions. The itinerary may be adjusted to offer the best viewing opportunities
  • Viewing Platforms: Tundra Buggies feature a back deck viewing platform with a sturdy metal grate floor, offering an open-air experience and even a chance to look straight down if a curious polar bear wanders underneath.
  • Activity Level: Moderate. Guests should have reasonable mobility. Activities involve walking on uneven terrain, and getting on/off the Tundra Buggy and other vehicles
  • Packing for the Arctic Climate: Weather in Churchill can be unpredictable and extremely cold in October and November. Essential items include thermal underwear, warm sweaters, snow pants, wool socks, insulated gloves or mitts, a hat, scarf, and warm, rubber-soled winter boots. For added convenience, gear rentals with Canada Goose parkas, snow pants, and Baffin boots are available at an additional cost
