DAY 1: WELCOME TO WINNIPEG

Arrive in Winnipeg and settle in for a relaxing evening. Enjoy a welcome dinner, where you will meet fellow travelers and receive an orientation from a representative, setting the stage for the adventure ahead.

DAY 2: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS!

The journey truly begins with an early morning flight from Winnipeg to Churchill. Upon arrival, a private charter awaits to whisk you away on a scenic one-hour flight to Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge, offering exciting aerial views and potential wildlife sightings. After a warm welcome, lodge tour, and a delicious lunch, a comprehensive briefing will prepare you for your first afternoon excursion along the coastline, seeking out the magnificent "Great Ice Bear." The day concludes with a delightful appetizer hour, a signature tundra-inspired dinner, and an informative evening lecture, with a chance to witness the spectacular aurora borealis on clear nights.

DAY 3-5: NATURE TREKKING, POLAR BEARS AND MAGNIFICENT PHOTOGRAPHY!

Each morning, after a hearty breakfast, expert guides will outline the day’s adventures, which may include delaying departure to maximize incredible photography opportunities with bears near the Lodge. Daily excursions will involve exploring the tidal flats and Hudson Bay shoreline on foot and in specialized all-terrain vehicles, allowing ample time for close-up wildlife encounters. Alternatively, a day might be spent exploring the intricate river deltas and vast beach ridges, or simply relaxing at the Lodge, enjoying the pristine views and observing wildlife from the safety of the perimeter. Evenings are often graced by the Northern Lights, with a gentle wake-up call provided by staff if they appear.

DAY 6: LAST MINUTE WILDLIFE VIEWING

After a final delicious breakfast at the Lodge, embark on a return flight to Churchill, offering more opportunities for breathtaking aerial photography. The day in Churchill is dedicated to exploring its rich history, with a guided tour visiting the Parks Canada exhibit, the Itsanitaq Museum, and the unique Polar Bear Jail. Discover fascinating SeaWalls murals before enjoying free time for souvenir shopping. The day culminates with a group dinner, followed by an evening flight back to Winnipeg, where you will check back into The Grand Hotel.

  • Rates are based on double occupancy
  • The single occupancy rate guarantees a private room at the Lodge as well as at the hotels required within the package. Single guests can sign up to share a room with another person of the same gender at the regular rate per person based on double occupancy
  • This tour is subject to availability at time of booking
  • A $3000 per person non-refundable deposit is required, with the remaining non-refundable balance due 90 days prior to arrival

IMPORTANT IMFORMATION:

  • Age Requirement: The minimum age is 8
  • Group Size: Tours have a maximum of 16 guests
  • Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge has eight guestrooms with en-suite bathrooms, housed in two guest wings connected to the main dining room/lounge area, each with cozy sitting areas overlooking the Bay
  • Average temperatures during this period range from 5°C to 15°C (45°F to 63°F)
  • *The equipment provided at the Lodge (rain gear, rubber boots, and gear for use during marine excursions) is designed to fit guests from child to adult. Boot sizes larger than a men’s size 13 or very small child sizes are considered custom and are not provided. Additionally, guests over 6’4” may need to bring their own gear, as clothing sizes to fit may not be available
